Exhibitions
The exhibitions of companies that work in areas related to the topic of the conference are integral parts of CAA meetings. Behind basic research and applied research there is the industry, whose market sensitivity forwards and positively affects research in many respects. The conference in Budapest aims to demonstrate and develop this interaction.
- We welcome specialists of documentation techniques connected to archaeological excavations, the latest results in proper scale drawings and photography as well as the related analysis and processing technologies. The technique of 3D scanning is already well-known, however, the processing of such data as well as its integration into other systems and the widespread utilisation of this technology still face many difficulties.
- An important area is the application of remote sensing, aerial and satellite photography in archaeology. All software that facilitates the archaeological adaptation of these sampling methods is valuable for us. We are also major users of the archaeological results of reconstructive mapping. This subject is increasingly connected to IT, which allows for a simultaneous usage of various groups of data.
- Multi-use databases are well-established subjects of IT applications. The development of this area faces the challenge of increasingly versatile contents of various complex uses resulting in ever slower systems. New results in this topic are highly interesting for the conference participants.
- The archaeological application of all other possibilities offered by different media is also one of our significant topics. The role of animation steadily increases in archaeological documentation, education and presentation. Virtual museology has become a new subject in IT applications.
- Publishing houses with an interest in archaeology are traditional and recurrent participants of our conferences. In Budapest, more than 600 archaeologists will be browsing through the bookstalls. We want to create as many opportunities as possible for these publishers to present and sell their books.
