September is the hottest month of the year in Madeira with temperatures topping out at an average 26 degrees Celsius. Daily lows rarely drop below 19 degrees.
Funchal can easily be reached by air from all major European cities, but most flights require at least one stop before reaching the destination – usually in Lisbon. The company responsible for bus transportation from the airport is SAM. The ticket to Funchal is payable on board and the recommended price is 3,25€. A scheduled, express bus service is also available between the airport and Funchal city. The price as of May 2011 is 5€ for an adult ticket.
Electricity in Portugal uses a Voltage of 240 volts, 50cycles.
Participants should arrange health and travel insurance prior to departure. The organizers do not assume responsibility for loss, injury or damage to persons and belongings however caused.
The currency used in Portugal is Euro.
Presentations can be made by using data projector. All authors are kindly requested to take their presentation on CD or USB and upload it on the conference laptop during the break before their session.
We do not support authors in using their own laptop.
All the papers mentioned as student papers will participate in the Best Student Paper Competition. A committee will be evaluating them during the workshop.
The award will be given during the closing session.
All accepted papers for oral and poster presentations will be published in the proceedings that will be distributed at the registration. The condition for publication of a paper is that at least one of the authors should register and pay for the symposium. Additional copies can be purchased at the Registration Desk.
An IEEE membership desk has been set up in the registration area for promoting IEEE membership among the attendance and in order to get new memberships.
