Documents
- All you need for entering Tunisia is an Identity Card and a reservation voucher from your Tour Operator. If you don't have a hotel reservation passport is required.
- For Driving: International Driving License is required
- Vaccination: no vaccination is needed
- Pets : Good Health Certificate, anti-rabies vaccination certificate delivered for more than one month and less than 6 months.
Money
- Currency : The Dinar, divided into 1000 millimes. The import and export of Dinar are forbidden.
- Foreign currencies, checks, credit cards are accepted without restriction. Foreign Currencies are convertible into Dinar possible at Banks, Exchange Offices in the Ports and Airports or Hotels at the rate is fixed by the Tunisian Central Bank.

Winter: from Monday to Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. / 02:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. / 01:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Other Useful Information
- Opening hours : Public Administration Offices are closes on Saturday and Sunday Museums are closed on Monday.
- Most Souks are closed on Friday and Sunday afternoon. Lunch break is quite long however shops usually remain open until 7:00 p.m.
- Languages: Arabic is the mother tongue. French is the second language and is spoken by the majority of people. English and German are spoken in the tourist regions.

Travel to Tunisia
- By your own car :
the rule of the road in force in Tunisia is as the same as the western Europe one. The speed is fixed at 50 Km / h within the city and 90 Km / h on the long distances, unless otherwise stated. (70 Km / h on the whole road system of Djerba), 110 Km / h on the highways
- By rent Car :
To rent a local car, you should have a driving license for, at least, one year and be over 21 years old.
Special regulations for the Sahara regions:
It is forbidden to enter to the Sahara zone without having previously informed the National Guard of Medenine of your route and you place of arrival. These measures are motivated by the dangers that the non-experienced passengers may encounter. Thereby, every Sahara trip should be done by group and in convoy. The passengers are kindly asked to choose the appropriate vehicles and to take large quantities of water and food provisions and also a tent as night shelter. To avoid misadventure, introduce yourselves at every military post you come across and inform the local authorities of your movements.
- The T.G.M. :
If you wish to visit the North Suburbs of Tunis, there is a train called TGM (Tunis - Goulette - Marsa) linking Tunis to Marsa in 35 minutes, via la Goulette, Salambo, Carthage and Sidi Bou Saïd. The rail network stretches over 2000 Kms.
- Taxis :
you can find them everywhere and they are cheap. Yellow can operate only within the city. The "Great Taxi" connects up also taxis. The "longest distance ways" is a group taxi (without slot meter, price agreed in advance) providing regular journeys between great cities.
- Bus :
They regularly furrow the all country. The Bus starting time is irregular for short distances.
- Air Transport :
There are regular flies between the most import cities of the country : Tunis, Monastir, Sfax, Tozeur, Tabarka and Djerba (Tuninter Company)
Taxi Jets: They secure flies on request for seminars, sick persons' evacuation, air photos etc...
