Language

The official language of the conference will be English however during the plenary sessions English-Hungarian and Hungarian-English simultaneous translation will be provided.       

 

Weather:

The weather in April is generally cold and rainy. During the day the temperature ranges from

12 to 19 °C.

 

Travel:

Budapest can easily be reached by air or train from all major European cities. An Airport Minibus service is available from the airport to each hotel. The cost for one fare is 2100 HUF (approx. 8.5 EUR), the return ticket is 3600 HUF (approx. 14.6 EUR). Calling the service 24 hours before departure the passenger will be picked up at any time and place. Railway Stations are connected with Public Transport. Trams, metros and buses operate without conductors. Tickets must be purchased in advance at metro stations and validated by the passengers at the punching machines. Taxi service is easily available in the city. If you need a cab, call TELE5 (Phone: 3-555-555), Fő-taxi (2-222-222) or Buda taxi (Phone: 2-333-333).

 

Electricity supply:

In Hungary electricity is supplied at 220V, 50Hz. The outlet and plug are the same as in most European countries.

 

Insurance:

Participants should arrange health, travel and car insurance prior to departure. The organizers do not assume responsibility for loss, injury or damage to persons and belongings however caused.

 

Banking and postal facilities:

Banks are generally open from 8.15 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and are closed on Saturday and Sunday. There are plenty of cash automata (except for Amex).

Post offices are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
