As you might remember the next Liaison Officer’s meeting will be held in Budapest, Hungary between 3–6 October 2002.

The conference language is English.

 Travel:

Budapest can easily be reached by air or train from all major European cities. An Airport Minibus service is available from the airports to each hotel. The cost for one fare is approx. 1800 HUF (7 USD). Railway Stations are connected with Public Transport. Trams, metros and buses operate without conductors. Tickets must be purchased in advance at metro stations and validated by the passengers at the punching machines. Taxi service is easily available in the city. If you need a cab, call TELE5 (phone 355-5555), Fõtaxi (222-2222) or Buda taxi (phone 233-3333).

Accommodation:

We have pre-booked several rooms at different category hotels. The first two hotels are at walking distance from the university, while the third can be reached by tram in 15 minutes.

• Professors’ Guest House (Single room: 42.5 EUR/night; Double room: 51.5 EUR/night/room; Double room for single use: 47.5 EUR/night)

• Hotel Gellért (Single room: 96 EUR/night; Double room 170 EUR/night)

• Hotel Griff (Single room: 50 EUR/night; Double room: 60 EUR/night)


The prices include breakfast and taxes

The Santander Group and the university will provide for two nights, for only one representative per individual member. The extra nights have to be paid by the participants. Also, those who would like to stay at Hotel Gellért will have to pay the difference between 50 EUR/night and the room price.

 Social program:

On Saturday (5 October) a guided Budapest city tour will be given for participants. The tour ends with a dinner at a typical Hungarian restaurant.
