This conference, the 5th in the series, is held in the first year of the new Millenium. In the last 10 years there were a lot of changes in the field of energetic, we have to face now new problems and new challenges.

The preparations for joining the European Union are giving our country important tasks in both energetic and environmental protection as well.

The role of this conference is, besides discussing the trends in our country, to gain some international experience and to talk about achievements in the technical fields.

The growing importance of the renewable energy sources as combustibles at the combustion engines and heating devices and the important role of the state-related maintenance and diagnostics beside the efficiency improving in the cost reduction of heat engines operation are also very important issues.

We consider very important the professional experience exchange and more than this, to provide a forum for young specialists for presenting their results and to get them involved in the professional life.

We are waiting for all those interested in these topics and for those who appreciate this meeting as an excellent possibility for changing experience at a high level.

Prof. Dr. Antal Penninger

Conference Chair
